Food retailer Delhaize and Euro Pool System are proud winners of the Supply Chain Awards 2018. The Reverse Logistics Distribution Centre of the Future we developed in Zellik, Belgium, was awarded ‘Project of the Year’. A great recognition of the innovative value of the project, that efficiently optimises the return process of reusable packaging materials from Delhaize stores.
Euro Pool System and Delhaize win the SCA18 in the category ‘Project of the Year’.
The Supply Chain Awards is an annual event that puts ground-breaking logistics projects in the spotlight to stimulate efficiency and sustainability in the supply chain. With the Delhaize project Euro Pool System demonstrates its innovative power to integrate all aspects of procurement, warehousing, production and logistics into one highly efficient solution.
The Reverse Logistics Distribution Centre of the Future is a partnership between Euro Pool System, Delhaize and IT-solution provider Aucxis.
The solution provides in the pooling and renting of reusable trays, and other returnable transport items to customers across Europe, managing the entire process from start to finish and all the way back again. Every single tray is tracked and traced during its journey from the shops into the service centres, where it is washed and checked for re-supply.
