This does not only compensate the wood we use for our pallets, but also contributes to the absorption of greenhouse gas emissions we generate with our business activities.

Our Gold Advanced rating acknowledges LPR’s commitment
to minimalising the environmental impact of the entire supply chain. Important contributors to our high rating are the usage of CO₂ reducing transportation alternatives like railway-freight and natural gas/
LNG-powered trucks. In addition,
our reforestation efforts provide
for the replantation of trees to counterbalance the use of
wood for our pallets.

Planting for the future

Since 2010, LPR  became the first pallet pooling operator to obtain the PEFC Chain of Custody certification and all the pallet purchases are either certified or come from non-controversial sources. Guarantees that the Group’s pallets throughout Europe are constructed from wood taken from sustainably-managed forests and that for the entire production chain they are constantly dealt with by organisations (sawmills, pallet-builders, etc.) that satisfy PEFC requirements.

LPR has strengthened its engagement towards sustainable forest management by supporting the French reforestation fund ‘Plantons pour l’avenir’. This allows us to offset the carbon footprint of our activity for some of our biggest customers.

LPR is in the top one percent of many thousands of companies assessed.
